Unlike most Chinese brands entering our markets, Chery has been around the minds of Malaysians the longest. Though the carmaker made its return in 2023 with the Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro, you still see older models from its first Malaysian appearance on the roads.

Perhaps some of you reading this article might even grow up in one, particularly the Chery Eastar MPV and the first Chery Tiggo. Compared to those models, the latest ones currently offered by Chery felt like night and day.

While others would prefer to shy away from their seemingly embarrassing past selves, Chery Malaysia is embracing it and has launched the Chery to Chery Trade-in Campaign. As the name suggests, Chery Malaysia is offering owners of older Chery models to trade in for the more significantly advanced newer models.

Through this campaign, Chery Malaysia will also give an additional RM 3,000 on top of the trade-in offer price to owners of older Chery models. It is an appreciation to loyal customers who stuck by the Chery brand all these years.

Chery currently offers two models, the Omoda 5 and the Tiggo 8 Pro, both of which are locally assembled (CKD) at the Inokom plant in Kulim. A third model, the Omoda E5 electric SUV will be launched in March.
