Volvo Cars have just announced its biggest global recall ever. Around 2 million cars worldwide will be recalled as a preventive measure after an internal discovery of weakened front seat belt cables by the company.
According to Volvo this wear and tear issue very rarely happens but states that this recall is a preventive safety recall to avoid future issues.

Affected models include:
- Volvo S60
- Volvo S60L
- Volvo S60 Cross Country
- Volvo V60
- Volvo V60 Cross Country
- Volvo XC60
- Volvo V70
- Volvo XC70
- Volvo S80
- Volvo S80L
The affected models are manufactured between 2006 and 2019. No current models are included in the recall.
There have been no reports of injuries or accidents linked to the fault. Volvo Car Malaysia has yet to announce a recall on affected local models but we can expect an announcement from the company soon.
