They were custom-ordered and personalized with extraordinarily high-priced optional details like painted wheel crests and special color leather stitching. It’s very hard to preserve that initial investment in the used market. The Cayenne was Porsche’s very profitable, capable, and fashionable answer to, “What can we sell to our traditional sportscar buyers now that everyone wants an SUV?” The first-generation Cayenne now looks very dated compared to the Gen 2 and Gen 3 (2018-present) models, so that’s another big reason for a hit on used vehicle pricing.
