Bermaz Motor, Mazda’s distributor in Malaysia has just announced that the evergreen Mazda 6 has been given some updates for 2021 alongside the Mazda MX-5. Prices for the updated, imported from Japan (CBU) Mazda 6 starts from RM 170,917 (excludes 50% SST, valid until 30-June 2021).
The updates are mostly additional features but possibly the most important is wireless Apple CarPlay which is now available standard on all variants of the Mazda 6.

The Malaysian-spec Mazda 6 comes with two engine variants, a 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G variant (162 PS/213 Nm), and a 2.5-litre SkyActiv-G variant (192 PS/258 Nm). Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Besides having wireless Apple CarPlay, the 2.0L variant now comes with Advanced Keyless Entry with walkaway door lock features and paddle shifters.
Additionally, the 2.5L variant comes with 19-inch Black Metallic alloy wheels and Gloss Black outer door mirrors for a sportier look. Inside, the top-of-the-line variant now features Burgundy Red coloured leather seats for a bewitching sense of class.
The updated Mazda 6 is available in 7 colours:
- Soul Red Crystal
- Machine Gray
- Snowflake White Pearl
- Sonic Silver
- Deep Crystal Blue
- Jet Black
- Polymetal Grey
The Mazda 6 2.0L starts from RM 170,917 while the Mazda 6 2.5L starts from RM 207,642. Both prices listed are on-the-road without insurance and exempted from 50% SST.
The Mazda 6 might be aged compared to its D-segment rivals but it still offers some truly exceptional driving dynamics. If you can forgive its high price, the Mazda 6 might be as good, nay, even better than a premium German car.
