Forget your Bugatti Chiron or 740 PS Volkswagen Golf, the Ford Focus is in fact the fastest car in the world. 

That’s exactly what an Italian woman woke up to when she was sent a speeding fine claiming she zipped past a speed trap at 703 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

That’s almost the cruising speed of a Boeing 747 and probably broke a couple of rules, so she was fined EUR 864 and docked 10 points off her licence. 

Putting two and two together we know that it’s caused by a faulty camera, but bureaucracy means that she has to pay the fine and then ask for a refund. Crazy stuff for a crazy story. 

Anyway, while we suspect none of you have a car capable of 703 km/h, it pays to check MyEG and and settle any outstanding summons you may have - lest you too have your licence blacklisted.
