Isuzu Malaysia celebrated Malaysia’s 66th year of independence with around 600 Isuzu D-Max owners around the country as part of the Merdeka Convoy 66.

The gathering was organised in collaboration with Isuzu dealers that saw D-Max parades held in 29 locations around the country at 9.15 AM on Merdeka morning.

It ended up being the largest ever simultaneous parade of Isuzu D-Max pick-ups in the country.

The convoy was flagged off at the Isuzu Jinjang dealership in Kuala Lumpur by Chief Operating Officer Kenkichi Sogo. He added that the event allowed dealers to engage with owners and celebrate the special bond that Malaysians enjoy on an extremely significant day.

“While our aim was to create a meaningful Merdeka celebration this year among our dealers and D-Max owners, we also wanted to celebrate this sense of unity that is so unique and apparent in Malaysia with a unified activity that transcends borders,” said Sogo.

The various dealers around the country each respectively organised programmes for the D-Max owners to ensure that everyone and their families would have fun at the event. Among the activities by the dealers included a visit to a durian farm, a short off-roading course, an afternoon at the beach, visiting a rainforest resort and a shopping mall.

Even the cars were also decked out with commemorative decals and flags while each participant received an exclusive event T-shirt.

Feedback from owners was positive with many voicing their interest in participating further in group activities among D-Max owners to foster closer friendships and to network with fellow enthusiasts.
