Basic information about my car:

Proton Saga 2019(Facelift) Premium 1.3 AT

Reasons why I bought this car:

My old car was dying and I could not fix it anymore. I've even replaced the cylinder head twice and it's driving me crazy! Literally going in and out of the workshop once a month. So I thought to myself it is time to get a better and more reliable car. Cut the story short, this Saga was the car that when I first saw it, I knew I had to look at it closer and get more detail about it. Plus the price was super reasonable for a car that is brand new with the latest upgrade of parts be it in the interior or exterior of the car.

Car selection process
- Our budget is Around RM500 to RM600 per month.

- Models that I have considered include: The CVT Saga and used Myvi.

Reasons why I chose this car:

- Good price for a brand new car - 4AT gearbox - Spacious - 15 inch sport rim - Good audio system - Enough safety features.

User experience：
- I have already done: 54000km

This car has been with me for almost 3 years now and so far there has been no major issues with it. Brought it for a long distance drive, no problem. It does exactly what it needs to be as a car that you can fully depend on be it for travelling or just casually drive around town.

Pros of my car:

- Very cold air-cond.

- Good stability.

- Reverse camera is bright!

- Spacious bonnet.

- Audio system is well-tuned

- Comfortable seat.

- Parts are easy to find.

Cons of my car:

- If you drive around town a lot, fuel consumption may be higher than usual.

- Slow throttle response.

- Loud wind noise.

- The stock halogen headlamp is not bright enough.

- Sometimes there is squeaks and ratlles on the dash and middle consoles of the car.

Summary：

I have been trying to get a loan for a year and things seem to be not on my favour. I wasn't even applying for a brand new car, I was just aiming at used second generation Myvi. But it didn't go through. I was kinda sad so next option would be the third generation Proton Saga CVT.

To be honest that generation of Saga is not my favourite but at that time I needed a car so bad so I put that thought aside. Also, my loan for the Saga was also not approved for whatever reason may be. So I decided to stop and see what option is available next.

One day I saw the new Facelift Saga(2019) being revealed and that really was like love at first sight. After I saw a few review on Youtube I decided to try and apply loan for this one. Against all odds my loan was approved and I waited one months for the car to arrived! Received it on November 2019 and here we are now!

I would love to tell you if there was anything interesting happened to my car but unfortunately nothing has occured.
