During the launching of the Proton Digital Experience (DX) centre in Quill City Mall yesterday (19-June), Proton’s Deputy CEO, Roslan Abdullah revealed to the press that nearly 5,000 booking orders were collected for its latest flagship model, the Proton X90 since its launch last month.
He also said that more than 500 units have been delivered to customers. “We expect deliveries to increase in July while the waiting period for the X90 is now less than 6 months,” Roslan commented.
The Deputy CEO also revealed that the majority of buyers chose the Flagship variant of the X90. Perhaps the 6-seat arrangement really appealed to the buyers as it’s the only one to come with the configuration while the other variants are equipped with 7 seats.
Besides, Roslan also said that the best-selling Proton model is the evergreen and humble Proton Saga while the Proton X50 remains the best-selling B-segment SUV in Malaysia.
The Proton X90 is the first Proton model to be equipped with a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system that combines a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder TGDi engine with a 48V belt-driven starter generator that makes a combined output of 190 PS and 300 Nm. It is offered in 4 variants:
