Singapore is the next ASEAN country to receive the 2023 Mazda CX-60, as the model has been teased for customers in the island nation.
Set to launch tomorrow (21-July 2023), the CX-60 joins the range as the brand's first-ever rear-wheel drive (RWD), longitudinal engine SUV under Mazda's Large Product Group of models, sitting above the front- / all-wheel drive transverse engine Mazda CX-5.
Powertrain and further specifications for Singapore haven't been shared just yet. Specifications for the Philippines - where the CX-60 made its ASEAN debut - entail a choice of two turbocharged 3.3-litre straight-sixes, fuelled by either petrol or diesel. The pair are also hooked up to a 48V mild-hybrid system, and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The petrol-powered turbocharged 6-cylinder e-Skyactic-G engine makes 284 PS and 450 Nm while 0-100 km/h is done in 6.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the e-Skyactiv-D produces 254 PS and 550 Nm with a 0-100 km/h time of 7.3 seconds. Both offer a top speed of 219 km/h.
Other markets offer the CX-60 with a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that does 188 PS and 250 Nm, as well as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) which pairs a 2.5-litre six-cylinder mill to an electric motor for a combined output of 327 PS and 500 Nm.
Closer to home, sources close to the matter say the Mazda CX-60 is currently being studied by local Mazda distributor Bermaz, for an eventual launch in Malaysia.
