auto hold jaguar Q&A Review

What is the most underrated classic car?

I think it’s this one. It was a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger. Sunbeam was part of Chrysler’s newly acquired Rootes Group subsidiary in the UK. Shelby was hired by Chrysler to fit their V8 into the Sunbeam Alpine, and their small block 318 wouldn’t fit, so Shelby went with the Ford 260 (like what was in the eary Ford GTs) If you’ve seen “Ford vs. Ferrari”, you will appreciate that this engineering project came immdeiately prior to Shelby’s work on the AC Cobra. The Tiger was featured in the spy-spoof TV serial “Get Smart” and generally considered to be the “Poor Man’s Shelby”. I had this one for about 2 years. It was a Corvette Killer, and I won a few “stoplight sweepstakes” in this car. In retrospect, it was a death trap that I was lucky to survive. I did pull the engine (in 1971, at age 19) and did a complete overhaul, down to the main bearings, wrist pins, and con-rods, honed the cylinders, installed new rings, did a valve job, and had the heads milled slightly to improve the compression ratio. I also won my first 1st Place Trophy (Sports Car Club of America Championship Slalom, Southwest Region) in this car - I had to beat Jaguar XKEs and Triumph TR6s. I had a bit of an unfair advantage in Class C, with V8 torque and a tall 2.88:1 differential that let me stay in gears a bit longer and throttle-steer through the turns more effortlessly. But I don’t feel so bad about that, because I also turned in “the fastest time of the day” - even the big-block 4-speed Vettes couldn't keep up. Damn, I wish I had kept this car, but the sororoty chicks I was dating at the time hated it - high maintenance, noisy and finicky - but then so was this car. Update #1:, I forgot to mention that two Sunbeam Tiger‘s (hard-tops) ran in the 24 Hour of Le Mans race, in the mid 60s, in one of the lower classes. Neither one finished, but, hey, they were competitive enough to qualify. That counts for something. Update #2:, ,For 2 years in the mid 60s, the Sunbeam Tiger held the American Hot Road Association (AHRA) top rating for 1/4 mile drags strip racing. How’s that - quaify a modified car for LeMans, and hold the AHRA showroom stock dragster record, at the same freaking time? That’s the Exacta of auto racing, at pretty much opposite ends of the auto racing spectrum. I guess if it qualified under NASCAR, the “Tig” would have the Trifecta.

Is it worth buying Tata Motors stock right now in February?

Yes definitely it's worth to invest in Tata Motors now. I personally see huge potential in Tata motors. And it is just started it would go huge that probably I could not predict. Although I am having 50% profit of ₹ 21000,still I am holding it. I am not going to sell this jam till 2025.reasons are here. Reason 1.Tata Motors aims to make Jaguar Land Rover an all-electric luxury brand from 2025 Reason 2:.Passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market during the month stood at 26,978 units as against 13,894 units in the same month previous year, up 94 per cent. Reason 3.Tata Motors-owned British luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) plans to cut 2,000 jobs globally in the next financial year. Britain's largest car manufacturer anticipates a lay-off of around 2,000 people from its global salaried workforce. The auto major has around 40,000 employees worldwide, as per its 2019-20 annual report. Reason 5 .Ratan Tata: This Man is the reason 🙏 Thanks for reading For free tips, guide and advice whatsApp me 8619105903

What are interesting facts on Volvo?

“Volvo” was originally the trademark for a line of inexpensive ball bearings that were to be made by SKF, the Swedish bearing manufacturer. The name is latin, for “I roll.” in the 1920s, the best-selling automobile in Sweden was the Chevrolet. Two employees of SKF lamented that there was no Swedish automaker, and left the company to found an automobile company. SKF sold them the rights to the “Volvo” trademark, and Gabrielsson and Larson named their fledgling auto company “Volvo.” Engines were purchased from Pentaverken, which Volvo later purchased and merged into the company. Volvo Penta still markets marine engines. Drive axles were purchased from what would become Dana/Spicer, the same axle manufacturer that supplies axles to Jeep, and a number of pickup trucks. Volvo automobiles quickly garnered a reputation for rugged dependability. In the 1950s, Volvo engineers would demonstrate the durability of their four-cylinder pushrod engines by taking automobile journalists around the test track in Gothenburg, Sweden, in first gear, accelerating to the point that the engine would start exhibiting valve float (a condition where the valve springs hit a resonant frequency, ~ 6,000 RPM in this case), feathering the throttle through valve float, and then increasing the RPM to 10,000. Volvo test drivers would do this for days on end, drive a test car with the engine doing 10,000 rpm, screaming around the test track in first gear to see how long things would last. The result? A long time. Volvo was the first automaker to offer seatbelts as standard equipment, in the 1950s, years ahead of other automakers. They were the first to offer three-point restraints, too. Volvo automobiles maintained a steady reputation for safety, dependability, and long life through the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and into the 90s. One advertisement featured a Volvo 120 “Amazon” parked beside two autos that were crushed into “cubes”, with the tag line, “An 18-year old Volvo and two of its contemporaries.” Other advertisements and commercials spotlighted Volvo owners who survived serious accidents and crashes with little or no injury due to their Volvos intentionally wadding up accordion-style to absorb crash energy and protect the passengers. Today, most passenger cars and SUVs utilize the same design techniques and “crumple zones” that were pioneered by Volvo decades earlier. Volvo owns the world record for the personal vehicle driven the most miles by one owner. It is a 1966 P1800 coupe owned by the late Irv Gordon of Long Island, NY, bought new, and driven for 3.2 million miles up until Irv passed away in Nov 2019 at a too-young 77 years. Irv was a former schoolteacher who commuted to Manhattan to work each day, and a voracious driver on the weekends. It was nothing for Irv and his wife and young kids to leave Long island and “have lunch” in the PA Dutch country of Lancaster, PA. And go someplace else the next weekend. The late Irv Gordon and his record-holding ’66 P1800: Volvo were also manufacturers of successful trucks and off-road equipment, having purchased the Swedish tractor manufacturer Bolinder Munktell, calling the division Volvo BM. Volvo Truck eventually absorbed White/GMC, the successor to White trucks and the Class 8 and 9 truck business segment of General Motors, and later bought Renault trucks in Europe, and Mack Trucks in the US, the latter which it continues to operate under the Mack name. Volvo BM later became Volvo CE, or Volvo Construction Equipment. A division of Volvo made the jet engines for SAAB fighter aircraft. In 1999 Volvo AB sold Volvo Cars to Ford Motor Company, which formed part of Ford’s Premier Auto Group along with Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Land Rover. Ford since sold those marques, with Volvo Cars being acquired by the Chinese Geely concern, who owns it today.

Why are Tata Motors shares falling continuously and I bought it at 260, and when will it recover?

07.02.2019: Update 27000 crore loss declared in Q3 one off write off. If you are still holding any shares. You will not be able to recover soon. Tata Motors reports massive Rs 26,961 crore Q3 loss on one-time loss of asset impairment at JLR Update: 10.01.2019: JLR India has made good sales in India in 2018 up 16.6% while Chinese and Global sales have slumped due to Brexit. Tata Motors is likely to go down even further. Jaguar Land Rover announces 4,500 job losses amid Brexit concerns Update: 05.12.2018. Basically Junk ratings! No movement for next 18 months. S&P Global Ratings cut Tata Motors’s long-term rating deeper into junk on Tuesday, the second downgrade for the Indian automaker in five months, citing headwinds for Jaguar Land Rover in some of its key markets. Leverage for the Mumbai-based company may deteriorate over the next 12 to 18 months due to the weaker-than-expected performance. Jaguar Land Rover Key After Tata Motors' Second Rating Cut Tata Motors is going through series of problems at Fundamental level. Tata Motors (Commercial and Passenger) in general is going through rough patch in its 10 year business cycle. JLR models are getting old and Electric car models are required in Europe. It requires huge new investment cycle of more than 80k Crore. It take atleast 3 years to get production model. Brexit is causing direct impact on JLR cars cannot be sold across Europe. Deal is not finalized yet. JLR might have to move to Central European countries and lot of expensive workers in Britain might lose jobs. Ie. Layoff and Pension cost, Relocation cost is significant risk. Demand for JLR cars from China has dropped 50% due to US China trade war. so plants are shutting down production for 3 weeks to reduce supply. JLR constitutes almost 80% of revenues for Tata Motors. Indian wing is improving in SUV segment but it adds tiny fraction to market share. Tata Nano was not successful. Now it produces 2 cars per month. Existing production plant has been re-assigned for other car models like SUV. In General, Auto sector is going through heavy correction e.g; Maruti, Ashok Leyland. New Govt regulations like Bharat 4.0 emission and Wheel Axle upgradation will cost significant capital towards design overhaul and production in commercial Vehicle segment. In General, when companies are flooded with Tsunami of Bad News, bad news will keep adding up. That does not mean you must to invest at cheaper valuation. Only Time Horizon required will be long. Tata Motors is at 5 years low. That means all the investors have no faith in this stock. Debt and Expenses are low since last 3 years. It has not participated in the bull runs since last few years. Question is when is the turnaround going to happen? Are you willing to lock your money for next 3 years and hope it will turn around especially when whole Nifty market -(other stocks) are offering tons of opportunity with Fundamentals are good but having deep correction. Intention is to make money or save Company? It is cheaper to buy when Market has signals that turnaround has actually happened rather than locking it forever. Never buy stocks which are hitting 52 week low everyday. Buy stocks which are above 200 day DMA atleast. Buy once and hold forever is never a good concept if you are not reading news about fundamentals or invest. Try to use Technical indicators and invest for shorter term of 1 week or 1 month and book profits regularly. These kind of stocks are likely to be range bound for longer timeframe. 24/10/2018 : Tata Motors -price 170 trading at Dec 2011 support level and Monthly RSI is below 27 in months chart. ie. RSI has broken long time support at 40. Next level expected to touch 143-152 and bounce back to some extent in Month time frame. It just shows there is a huge problem at Fundamental level. Better stay away from investment till we get an uptrend. 30.10.2018 : News update. Share price at 177 up 1.5% Tata Motors starts production of upcoming SUV Harrier Tata Motors reveals turnaround plan for Jaguar Land Rover after loss

Are Jaguar cars worth the prize?

My dad has owned Jaguars and found them to be reasonable vehicles for him. Mind you he owns a towing company, an auto shop, and is a three time master certified mechanic (auto, heavy truck, and motorcycles) for decades and keeps a truck as a daily driver but I guess if you are the right person and enjoy them Jaguars are fine cars.

What is the future of Tata Motors in August-September? Will it be bearish or bullish?

Hello, Tata Motors is a company owned by the Tata Group. Tata Motors' share has been falling since 2016 from rs. 570 to Rs. 103 (as of 15 July 2020). The company is totally in debt and has a debt of 1.06 lakh crore. Sales growth is somewhat between 3.56% and ROCE & ROE is -14.61% & -37.19% respectively. All its value is because of JLR (Jaguar & Land Rover). If the Covid-19 situation worsens it could see a more dip in price. According to me, you should wait for its Q1 result, which according to me will be the worse to date. You can look for companies better than tata motors such as Eicher Motors, Bajaj Auto & Maruti Suzuki, etc. If you already have its shares, I would suggest you to sell before the results of Q1 and if results are good and you still want to hold it. you can further make a new position. Also, Tata Motors is planning for a launch of a Sedan which can be a good rival for Honda City, Hyundai Verna & Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. According to news the name of the new upcoming car is “PEREGRINE” & it can be extended sedan version of Tata Altroz. “This car can prove to be good for Tata motors in terms of sales”. Analysts and Car enthusiasts predict. Here is a photo of Peregrine concept: Source: GOOGLE Here is a “speculated: version PEREGRINE: source: INDIAN AUTO BLOG Thank you! Do upvote!

As an auto mechanic, have you ever met someone who was clueless about cars beyond belief?

My mechanic buddy had a clueless Jaguar owner as a client. Jag owner came in after a routine service to complain the wheel spinners were on way too tight to be removed by hand. Mechanic explains this is not a good idea as the spinners are what hold the wheels on. Customer would have none of it, so after some back and forth the customer is always right, so buddy took the rubber mallet and loosened the spinners. Never did hear if the guy returned with a trashed car and a missing wheel.

If it is legal to have a military type rifle, can I also own a military tank?

Absolutely! There is what is known as a “tank farm” in the town of Nokesville, VA, close to where I live, where there are 30+ tanks from different eras and nations around the world. Each and every tank is privately owned. VMMV Tank Farm - Nokesville, Virginia - History Museum That said, if you plan on owning your very own tank, with or without a working gun, you have to be prepared for the following: Cost:, Tanks don’t come cheap. Depending on the age, condition and rarity of the tank, you can spend about $30 thousand for a small armored car or upwards of a million dollars for a popular main battle tank. Military Vehicles For Sale - Tanks, CVR(T), FV432, Chieftain Tank Storage:, You can’t just park a tank in your driveway. You will need a proper place to warehouse your new toy. Also, depending on where you live, it may be illegal to park your tank in a residential area, so you may need to acquire property which is zoned commercially. Registration:, Your local DMV is going to be interested in your new “motor vehicle”, and there will probably be property tax and registration issues to figure out, depending on where you live. Go online and find out what paperwork is necessary for you to properly register your tank. Maintenance:, It can be difficult to make repairs to a tank, many of which can be maintenance nightmares. You can’t just take it to your local mechanic at Auto Zone or Pep Boys for a tune up. You also can’t find most of the replacement parts for your tank at the local NAPA auto parts store. You are going to have to go through the proper vendors who have the ability to request parts for what were once military vehicles for their country of origin, or of nations which were allowed to purchase them from the vehicle manufacturer in that country of origin. This will not be cheap. Needless to say, owning a tank is not an easy or inexpensive thing to do. You will need considerable financial resources, a proper storage facility, access to replacement parts and someone qualified to do repairs to your vehicle. You will also need to show true commitment to your ownership goal. That said, the answer is a resounding ,YES,….It ,IS, possible to privately own a tank. Personally, I recommend this 1981 CVRT Sabre below. It’s a great starter tank that has a Jaguar engine, is road registered and ready to use, comes with a new boxed backup engine, and can be had for only £28,000. You ,will, have to pay to ship it to the states, however. Military Vehicles But somehow, I really don’t think that’s going to be a problem, because I don’t think your actual intention was ever to acquire a working tank. From the way your original question was phrased, you were more likely trying to shame pro-gunners for owning what you consider to be “military assault rifles.” You probably meant to imply that such gun ownership, just like owning a tank, should be considered extreme and dangerous, and show it to be a ridiculous thing worthy of ridicule. Thankfully, your right to own such “,military-style,” items as armored cars, self-propelled guns, and yes, even tanks is legally protected, so long as you purchase them lawfully and do not use them for any illegal purpose. Unfortunately for you, the same holds for our ownership of semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 and other “,military-styled,” weapons you think we shouldn’t be allowed to have, even though we have ,never, used them in an irresponsible or illegal manner, ,have, used them for sport-shooting, and ,may, someday (God forbid) need them to protect ourselves, our families and our property. Also, the 2A reaffirms our God-given right to defend ourselves and our property as we see fit without interference from government. Though the AR may appear “military,” the only arms we are forbidden from owning are those with the ability to fire in fully automatic mode, such as the M-16 and its more compact cousin, the M-4. The AR-15, being incapable of firing in full-auto mode, is NOT classified as a “military” rifle, and as such, is perfectly legal to be purchased by the general public. As a law-abiding citizen, we wouldn’t interfere with your owning a tank if you truly desired one. As such, you shouldn’t concern yourself with our ownership of “,military-styled rifles,” like the AR-15 or how we choose to use them, just as long as it’s all done within the boundaries of the law. So with that, I'll simply say…“Go ahead and enjoy yourself in your new (old) tank! Have fun!

Which stocks in India will benefit from the electric vehicle revolution?

There are many stocks in India for electric vehicles. However, the holding period is at least 10 years to enjoy the benefits of compounding. Original Equipment manufacturers,: Tata Motors,: Tata Motors is at the forefront of the EV cars revolution in India. In 2020, it has a market share of 68% in electric cars. Its models, Tiago, Nexon are already in the market. EV versions of Harrier, Safari will also be released in 2021. It has a huge technology advantage because of the Jaguar & Land Rower.
