    YES. Lowering the first number gives you much faster oil circulation on every startup, and especially in the cold. So you engine will have lower wear on every start-up. And since it flattens the viscosity curve, in hotter areas, like turbos, a 5W-40 will have more viscosity than a 15W-40.

    0w20 is a fast flowing oil used in modern multi valve engines it will flow quickly through the engine when it is cold. If it is recommended by the manufacturer it should not be a problem in hot weather. Your engine temperature is far hotter than outside temperature at any time.
