Prices are considerably higher than the previous generation model, as Mazda is gradually moving more upmarket. Coupled with the fact that the model is now imported from Japan makes for a rather expensive C-segment model.

The entry-level Mazda 3 features a 1.5-litre SkyActiv-G four-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 118 hp at 6,000 rpm and 153 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Power is routed to the front wheels via a six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission.

The next variant is the Mazda 3 2.0 Sedan High, powered by a 2.0-litre SkyActiv-G four-cylinder petrol engine, capable of delivering 162 hp at 6,000 rpm and 213 Nm at 4,000 rpm. A six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission is the only option available.
