Isuzu Philippines has released teaser images on their Facebook page on the arrival of the all-new 2021 Isuzu D-Max in the country. According to the teasers, the all-new D-Max will be launched virtually via Facebook and YouTube on 4-March 2021.
Based on the few teasers that were uploaded, the Filipino-spec D-Max could resemble that of the Thai-spec D-Max. As such, the Filipino D-Max will be imported from Thailand.
Just like the Thai-spec D-Max, the Filipino-spec D-Max could be powered by two engine options which are an updated 3.0-litre DDi BluePower turbodiesel (190 PS/450 Nm) or a 1.9-litre DDi BluePower turbodiesel (150 PS/350 Nm).
Prices for the outgoing D-Max in the Philippines range from PHP 857,000 for the single cab and chassis variant to PHP 1,795,000 for the awesomely-named Boondock 4x4 A/T. Given the recent implementation of tariffs on imported vehicles in the country, Filipinos could expect a rise in prices for the all-new D-Max.
Following its expected launches in the Philippines and Vietnam, we’re sure Malaysians couldn’t wait for this impressive next-gen D-Max to make it here.
That being said, we would have to wait a little longer for the all-new D-Max to be launched here. After all, given that the Malaysian-spec truck will be locally-assembled (CKD), it will incur a longer time for development.
However, the outgoing D-Max is still a very impressive and capable pick-up truck. As seen in our comparison against the Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota Hilux, the D-Max in its 1.9-litre form is definitely a surprising package.
