A month ago, Bermaz Motor opened bookings for the all-new 2022 Mazda BT-50. Then, a few days later, the confirmed specs were revealed. Now, the new pick-up is slowly finding its way to Mazda dealers across the country.

As reported earlier, the all-new 2022 Mazda BT-50 is priced between RM 124,179 to RM 143,218, for the 1.9-litre High Double Cab and the 3.0-litre High Plus Double Cab variants, respectively. Now, in terms of variant-to-variant comparison, the Mazda BT-50 is actually pricier than its sibling model, the equally-new Isuzu D-Max (RM 121,549 to RM 141,938). We’ll compare at a later time.

Seen here is the 2022 Mazda BT-50 1.9 High Double Cab variant, identified by its 17-inch alloy wheels. Bermaz Motor is also offering a higher specced 3.0-litre High Plus Double Cab variant, but that variant has not yet reached dealers.

To recap, the all-new 2022 Mazda BT-50 shares both its turbodiesel engine and transmission with the aforementioned Isuzu. The first is a turbodiesel 1.9-litre that does 150 PS and 350 Nm, while the larger 3.0-litre unit is capable of delivering 190 PS and 450 Nm. And yes, power figures are identical to the Isuzu D-Max.

Standard equipment for both variants of the 2022 Mazda BT-50 are listed below.

Five colours are available, namely Rock Grey Mica, Gunblue Mica, Ice White, Red Volcano Mica, and Truck Black Mica.
