User experience

  • I have already done 146,000km.
  • My average fuel consumption is 8 to 12L/100km

Overall I hv a good experience with my Exora turbo. I enjoy the smooth gear change of the CVT, enjoy overtaking experience provided by the Turbo and not forget the cool aircon (too cool in during rainy days haha). I hv drove my to from Kuching to Miri and back (around 2000km) once and drove to local Holiday resorts with my family and in laws for the past years.

My Exora also serve as trusty ride to send my kids to from school and tuition centres daily. For my Exora services, I always go back to the same Proton service center and I select my service mechanic so that I can trust their job well done everytime. I use fully synthetic motor oil 5w30. My radiator only use mineral water + coolent (don't use piap water). I also do the "Gear Exercise" during my 1st drive everyday (recommended by En Mat of JPJ last time).

Cons of my car:

  • OCH (recommend to Inspect or change every 30k km) (OCH bursted once and change new one with part metal one but leaking after 30k km)
  • Original tyres not good
  • Heavy power steering
  • Reverse camera cannot view during night time (reverse light not strong enough)
  • Rear TV only can play certain DVD format and no software update.

Summary :

My Exora is my trusty ride everyday, powerful overtaking power when needed and enjoy the cool aircon and spacious interior, I name my Exora "Big Water Buffalo" haha.

Lastly :

When I fetched my kids back from school one day, my Exora OCH bursted and the engine sound like a ship engine. Luckily its close to my house (about half a km) and I managed to drive it back home and call a toll truck to toll my Exora to Proton service centre. Cg
