Proton announced sales figures for November 2023 with 12,296 units (domestic + export) sold. P1’s total year-to-date (YTD) sales up to November 2023 also surpassed sales of the entire 2022 calendar year.

A total of 141,900 units were sold up to November 2023 compared to last year’s total of 141.432 units. 2023’s YTD sales number is broken down to 138,876 units domestically and 3,024 units in export markets.

As of November, Proton saw a commendable 12% growth year-on-year while holding a 19.7% market share in Malaysian automotive sales thus far.

The Proton X Series, which is what P1 calls its range of SUVs (X50, X70, X90) have reached a remarkable milestone of 201,710 units on the road. Leading the way in November is the Proton X50 with 2,115 units sold, the 2nd most popular B-segment SUV in Malaysia that month.

Meanwhile, November also saw 739 units of the Proton X70 sold contributing to a total of 95,100 units sold since its launch in 2018. The newest X Series model, the Proton X90 continues to lead the D-SUV segment with a total of 4,285 units sold since launch, 371 units of which were sold in November.

Despite the success of Proton’s SUV series, its biggest sellers remain the non-Geely-based models. Collectively known as PIES (Persona, Iriz, Exora, Saga), these original Proton models continue to see demand by Malaysian buyers with a 34.3% growth compared to YTD 2022.

The Proton Saga remains P1’s best-selling model with 6,349 units sold in November. The Proton Persona also saw impressive sales that month with 1,902 units sold, making it the third best-selling Proton following the Saga and X50.

Reflecting on the achievements, Roslan Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Proton Edar, stated, "November has shaped up well for us, and we're poised for a strong year-end close. Our model lineup has been a key player, perfectly aligning with preferences for style, performance, technology, and practicality.”
