Yesterday, we published spyshots of the upcoming 2021 Proton Iriz MC2 and the jacked-up Iriz Active sans camouflage. Today, we procured a couple of interior shots that are supposedly from the Iriz MC2.
These photos are courtesy of our friends at Funtasticko who also provided photos of the uncamo-ed Iriz MC2. Looking at the photo of the floating display, it looks similar to the one that is used on the Proton Saga.
Granted, it doesn’t look as flushed to the dashboard unlike say, one from a Mazda but compared to the Saga, it looks a little cleaner. Besides, the air-con vents are also redesigned along with the placement of the hazard lights and door lock buttons.
Rather than being flanked on either side of the infotainment screen like in the outgoing Iriz, the air-con vents are placed below the screen in the update.
Speaking of the air-con, there is another photo that shows the Iriz MC2’s redesigned climate control unit which now features a digital display with control knobs on either side. Based on the photo provided, the screen will show the temperature, fan speed, and the direction of airflow.
The photo also shows a gearknob but we can’t really tell from the photo alone whether the Iriz MC2 will be using the Hyundai-sourced 4-speed AT as used on the Saga or the flawed Punch-sourced CVT gearbox.
With the updated Iriz unmasked, both outside and (partially) inside, do you think the ageing hatchback has what it takes against the Perodua Myvi with these new upgrades?
