For traditional fans of the Suzuki Jimny, the 5-door version which made its global debut in India seems to besmirch the hallowed legacy of this tiny yet capable off-roader. However, many buyers would appreciate the extra doors given to the plucky Suzy and it appears that it might be heading over to Indonesia.
Our colleagues over at AutoFun ID reported that the Jimny 5-door is listed on its latest Motor Vehicle Sales Value (Nilai Jual Kenderaan Bermotor, NJKB) document. 4 variants of the Jimny 5-door are listed but were given codenames instead.
It is worth noting that these prices are not the finalised retail price of the retro-looking SUV as these are just the value without taxes. Besides, AutoFun ID believes that the codes are referring to the Jimny as the 3-door variant was given a similar codename in the NJKB document prior to its launch in the archipelago.

In Indonesia, the 3-door Suzuki Jimny is offered in 4 variants and is priced between IDR 443.9 million to IDR 460.5 million (~RM 135k-140k). Suffice to say, the 5-door variants should be more expensive than the 3-door variants.
The 5-door Jimny is currently built in India at Maruti Suzuki’s plant in Gurgaon. Outside of the subcontinent, the 5-door Jimny is revealed in South Africa though prices have yet to be announced there.
The 5-door version of the plucky off-roader is powered by the same naturally aspirated 1.5-litre unit (105 PS/134 Nm) as the 3-door version that is offered globally. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic that sends power to all 4 wheels via the Allgrip Pro 4x4 system.
Regarding the 5-door Jimny’s arrival, Suzuki Indomobil Sales told AutoFun ID that it is one of the future models to be introduced in the archipelago but has not revealed a proper timeline.
As for Malaysia, the Suzuki Jimny is currently only available with one variant, the 1.5 4X4 AT which is priced from RM 174,900. Suzuki's Malaysian distributor, Naza Eastern Motors, currently has no plans to bring the 5-door Jimny.
