Which means, the ,Vauxhall Motors ,nameplate - now part of ,Stellantis,, which is led by ,Peugeot, - is [deeply] restricted to the UK market only, whereas the ,Opel, marque is [deeply] restricted to the whole continental European market, but it even managed to sell their cars - as Opel - in the Republic of Ireland, Malta, and also Cyprus - both three islands were former British colonies - even before and after the acquisition by Peugeot now Stellantis, Otherwise, the British market’s decision to ‘favour’ the Vauxhall name - instead of Opel - is because of anti-German sentiment before, during, and after World War II, which meant that selling a German-named car manufacturing - like Opel - on British soil means it could give frustration to the British market and their consumers even after the WWII.
