mitsubishi outlander cyprus Q&A Review

Only for European, British/Irish, Australian/NZ, and South African car enthusiasts: Is the current Hyundai Santa Fe/Kia Sorento safer than the Nissan X-Trail and Mitsubishi Outlander? So, why don't Hyundai buy and treat Nissan like Vauxhall instead?

I am not from those aforementioned countries, but if Europe’s ,Renault, controversially ‘owns’ ,Nissan,, together with ,Mitsubishi Motors, as of now, therefore the ,[Nissan] Qashqai, manufacturer could rather replace the ,[Renault] Kadjar, builder with the ,Hyundai Motor Group, as their stakeholder thus mentor, hence technical assistant/parts supplier. Moreover, if the ,[Hyundai] Tucson,/,[Kia] Sportage, manufacturer took over and become a technical assistant/parts supplier to ,Nissan,, then ,Hyundai, - which utilised their cars with parts [licenced] from ,Mitsubishi Motors, in the past - could rather treat Nissan like Brexit Britain’s ,Vauxhall Motors,, which they sell cars that are just rebadged ,Opel, models exclusively to the British market only. Which means, the ,Vauxhall Motors ,nameplate - now part of ,Stellantis,, which is led by ,Peugeot, - is [deeply] restricted to the UK market only, whereas the ,Opel, marque is [deeply] restricted to the whole continental European market, but it even managed to sell their cars - as Opel - in the Republic of Ireland, Malta, and also Cyprus - both three islands were former British colonies - even before and after the acquisition by Peugeot now Stellantis, Otherwise, the British market’s decision to ‘favour’ the Vauxhall name - instead of Opel - is because of anti-German sentiment before, during, and after World War II, which meant that selling a German-named car manufacturing - like Opel - on British soil means it could give frustration to the British market and their consumers even after the WWII. Particulary, in the wake of the UK’s Brexit vote, which could impose tariffs at German-built cars like Opel, as having said that, they sell their cars with the Vauxhall nameplate [in the UK only] instead. Also, the Irish, Maltese, and Cypriot market’s decision to sell Opel - and not Vauxhall - is not just because anti-German sentiment is absent in those said three island republics, but also due to the impact of those aforementioned island countries’ independences from British control. With Ireland in 1916, Cyprus in 1960, and Malta in 1964. Therefore, the Republic of Ireland’s decision to sell Opel in their market deeply manifests the fact that the Irish broke away from Britain’s possession, which led to the creation of ,Northern Ireland, in 1921. Now, back to the Hyundai-Nissan partnership issue: The only thing for Hyundai to purchase Nissan is to learn lessons from the playbook of Opel/Vauxhall is because of the fact that Nissan is from Japan, which was a former coloniser to Korea aka South Korea - the country of origin of Hyundai/Kia - from 1910 to 1945. See also: ,A Test of Japan–South Korea Relations, and ,South Korea and Japan Continue to Struggle to Bridge Their Differences,. Therefore, national identity/pride - an Opel/Vauxhall philosophy - is considered to be such a single obstacle to Hyundai’s takeover of Nissan and Mitsubishi Motors - so do the lesser-known ,[Renault] Samsung Motors, nameplate - from Renault’s umbrella, thus Nissan’s decision to replace Renault with Hyundai as their technical assistant and master could mean that even if both Asian car manufacturers sell cars separately. Then, Nissan - so do Mitsubishi until they go bankrupt by Nissan - could rather be restricted to the Japanese market, thus Hyundai, Kia, and even the [luxury] ,Genesis Motor, marques are also restricted to the [South] Korean market as well. As Nissan had already decided to leave the Korean market at the end of this year, which was already announced on September 2019. See also: ,Japan's Nissan mulls pulling out of South Korea as trade tensions rise: FT,, ,Nissan unveils transformation plan to prioritize sustainable growth and profitability, - ‘Exiting South Korea’, and ,South Korea to fine Nissan for manipulating emissions tests – Car Dealer Magazine, UK,. === Likewise, here is details coming from the article titled ‘,2021 Kia Sorento resets active safety standard as ANCAP awards new Toyota Kluger, Mazda CX-9 and Hyundai Santa Fe rival five-star rating - Car News | CarsGuide,’, seen below: ‘ANCAP has awarded the new-generation Kia Sorento large SUV its maximum five-star rating, with the family friendly seven-seater resetting the active safety standard for all vehicles.’ ‘Under the independent vehicle safety authority’s stricter 2020 protocol, the Sorento’s Safety Assist score (89 per cent) is the highest issued yet.’ ‘In the Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection categories, the Sorento also performed strongly, scoring 82 and 85 per cent respectively.’ ‘That said, the Sorento only got 63 percent for Vulnerable Road User Protection, losing points due to ‘poor’ protection of a pedestrian’s pelvis during a front-end impact as well as its autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system’s lack of rear pedestrian detection.’ ‘Of note, the Sorento’s five-star rating only applies to its diesel variants, with their petrol (and eventual hybrid and plug-in hybrid) counterparts currently unrated.’ ‘Meanwhile, ANCAP has awarded the reborn Land Rover Defender large SUV a range-wide five-star rating also under its 2020 protocol.’ ‘The Defender also scored strongly in Adult Occupant Protection (85%) and Child Occupant Protection (88%) but not as well in Vulnerable Road User Protection (71%) and Safety Assist (76%).’ ‘ANCAP Director of communications and advocacy Rhianne Robson said: “2020 has been a year of significant change, but we’re pleased to see vehicle brands continue to recognise the importance of five-star safety despite increasing standards.”’ ‘“For a vehicle of its size and mass, the Sorento also offers good levels of compatibility with other vehicles – reducing the risk of serious injury to occupants in an opponent vehicle.’ ‘“In contrast to the Sorento, however, the front structure of the Defender presents a higher risk to occupants of an oncoming vehicle in a crash, and as a result, its score in the frontal offset test was reduced.”’ === And, even if Hyundai owns [a stake in] Nissan the same time they supply and reengineer their [Nissan’s] cars with the Hyundai Motor Group’s running gear [from the Tucson/Sportage] and mechanical parts, therefore it could also be just like when ,Mitsubishi Motors, was supplying their technologies to Hyundai Motor Company in the past. Which also meant that, Mitsubishi too had refused to market themselves in the [South] Korean market than Hyundai, in regards of the national identity both Japan and Korea possess... - ,Genda Nicolai Yturzaeta Iwakawa/awakawI ateazrutY ialociN adneG,, to be continued… I will end this long and hard to make comment with images and links to reflect. This is how Nissan could look like if they replaced Renault with Hyundai as their mentor. This is how the ,Liancourt Rocks, could look like if ,India, took the islets over.
