We previously reported that the upcoming 2021 Geely Boyue X will likely make its world debut at the 2021 Chengdu Auto Show, now we have confirmation. Geely uploaded a video teasing the pending launch of the SUV alongside another mysterious red car.
Thanks to various spy shots, we pretty much know how the facelift looks like. Geely has done away with its signature ‘Expanding Cosmos’ front grille in favour of a massive X-themed all-black design.
Spied images also revealed the Boyue X will feature an interior colour scheme similar to the Geely Preface, and come offered in grey, white, and black.
Meanwhile, no changes were made to the engine. The Boyue X will be powered by the same 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine (184 PS, 300 Nm) as the Proton X70. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Boyue X is probably the final facelift before Geely introduces an all-new model based on the CMA platform. It is rumoured that the Boyue X will either slot in between the regular Boyue and the range-topping Boyue Pro, or it might replace the standard Boyue entirely.
Watch this space for the launch of the new Geely Boyue X!
