2023 going into 2024 seems to be a very busy year for the folks at Proton as just now, fresh photos of a camo-clad Proton X50 was spotted driving around, courtesy of social media user Hector Soh.

Only two shots of it can be seen but they show a discernible difference to the current car – notice how the fully-blocked off front bumper looks slightly sharper than the currently-sold X50's, and the covered rear hints at more than just a few subtle changes.

The wheels are also covered, which could spell new rolling stock to come with this update as well.

Given the general lines of the spied vehicle, we think it could take on the look of the Geely Binyue Cool, as above.

It has certainly come at somewhat of a surprise, given that the much-talked about Proton S70 hasn't even launched yet, and just before this purported X50 facelift there were sightings of the updated X70 too; which also hasn't made its debut.

We're certainly in the very early stages of the X50 facelift's development, and more time will have to pass until we learn more about it.

For now, the Proton X50 sells in four variants in Malaysia, with prices ranges from RM 86,300 to RM 113,300.
