Mazda CX-5 2.0 GLS

Reasons why I bought this car

Initially it was a gift for my wife, but somehow not too long later we have a baby, so this car now becomes our family car. 

Car selection process

• I had a budget of: RM 150000
• Models that I have considered include: Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, Honda Civic

The reason why I choose this car

Mainly because my wife did not like Honda, and she did not like big vehicles. Therefore, this Mazda CX-5 is sort of a common ground for us.

User experience

I have already done 39000 km.

This car is suitable for a small family with little things to carry. Handling is good, however the engine is quite underpowered. Boot space is not satisfactory and middle row seats are rather cramped. My thoughts about cars may be biased as this car was meant for my wife, and I personally prefer larger vehicles.

Pros & Cons

Pros

• Easy handling
• Comfortable interior

Cons

• Underpowered engine
• Cramped boot space and middle seats
• The factory fitted LCD touch screen is rather lousy, cannot play video files
• The built in GPS is lagging and cumbersome to use
• It does not have phone mirroring function
• Does not have power boot

Summary

Mazda CX-5 is good for ladies who want a slightly bigger vehicle but easy to maneuver. Therefore it is probably a good choice for my wife.
