Returning for the fifth time, the Carlist.my Drive Auto Fair will once again return to the Setia Alam Convention Centre. This year’s event will run from 1 – 3 September 2023, Friday to Sunday, from 10am to 8pm. No less than 12 brands will be participating. The tech-heavy EV space will be represented by Smart, BMW, Kia, and Great Wall Motor (Ora). Chery is on track to make its return to Malaysia by the second half of 2023. The brand will be re-launched here with two SUV models – the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Chery Omoda 5. Both models will be locally assembled (CKD), so prices are expected to be competitive against equivalent Toyota, Honda, and Mazda models. The identity of the Malaysian assembly partner has not been revealed but Chery has previously said that the plant will have a 30,000 units per year capacity. Also read: Chery confirms 30k

Kia Sorento The upcoming 2020 Kia Sorento looks the business. As seen in our Geneva Motor Show post, the 7-seater Sorento design is heavily influenced by its American-only Kia Telluride, which looks more upscale and sophisticated as compared to the rounder looks of its predecessor. Along with the refreshed exterior design, the platform and engine is all-new too. The overall length has been extended by 10 mm than its predecessor, while the wheelbase is up 35 mm to 2,815 mm.
