Alongside the launch of the Kia K5, the all new fourth-generation 2021 Kia Carnival also made its Chinese debut at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show. Like the K5, the Carnival will ride on Kia’s new iGMP platform and will continue Kia’s technology showcase in the country.

The new generation Kia Carnival only just made its global debut last month. It came with SUV-inspired new look but with MPV proportion. It is now larger than ever as Kia engineers have extended the width by 10 mm from 1,985 mm to 1,995 mm.

Other than that, the wheelbase has also been extended by 30 mm to 3,090 mm to allow for an even more spacious cabin.

Kia also took the opportunity to introduce the new Spatial Talents interior concept. The concept is designed to eliminate as many blind-spots as possible for the driver.

Like the current Kia Grand Carnival selling in Malaysia, the Kia Carnival in China will also feature 11 seats. The interior is also highlighted by a 12.3-inch dual touchscreen along with a fully digital instrument cluster.

For the Chinese market, the Carnival will be powered by both a 3.5-litre GDi V6 petrol engine that produces 294 PS and 355 Nm and a 3.5-litre MPi V6 petrol engine that crunches 272 PS and 332 Nm.

Sold by Dongfeng Yueda Kia Motors Co. (DYK) in China, the Carnival is part of the company’s TECH (Turbo, Electrification, Connectivity, Hybrid) strategy to make Kia’s latest technologies available to the Chinese market. Sales for the all-new Kia Carnival in China will follow next year.
