UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has quietly updated the 2023 Toyota Yaris (NSP151) on its website for the second time this year. Like the first update which was introduced in May, the evergreen hatchback receives mainly small quality-of-life changes rather than a massive facelift that was introduced in Thailand.

While the first updates on the locally assembled (CKD) Yaris this year saw no changes in price, the latest update sees a price bump across the two variants currently offered:

The base J variant was dropped from the last update back in May and the updated prices show that the Yaris starts from nearly RM 90,000. As for changes, the biggest update is in the interior with the 7-inch infotainment display swapped out for a 9-inch display unit that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The paddle shifters and leather-wrapped steering wheel are only available on the 1.5 G variant of the updated Yaris as before. New additions to the top variant include a pre-installed RFID tag as well as front parking sensors.
The powertrain also remains unchanged with the Yaris only offered with a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre 2NR-FE DVVT-i engine (107 PS/140 Nm) paired to a CVT-type automatic transmission.

Elsewhere, safety features remain the same with 7 airbags and the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite as standard across the two variants. TSS comprises a pre-collision system (PCS), lane departure alert (LDA), and blind-spot monitors (BSM) with rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA).
The Yaris is backed by UMWT’s 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
