UMW Toyota Motor has refreshed the 2023 Toyota Yaris (NSP151) for this year, an update which mostly spans quality-of-life changes instead of a total facelift. The hatch keeps its same sharp look, and prices thankfully haven't gone up too, starting from RM 83,300 for the Yaris 1.5E, to RM 87,600 for the Yaris 1.5G.
This also means that the base Yaris 1.5J has been discontinued.
New optional rear DVR (dashcam), with smartphone connectivity
Optional extras for the Yaris includes aforementioned rear-facing camera (RM 380) and a wireless charger (RM 490). Sources close to the matter say that the updated Yaris has a 2- to 3-month waiting period.
As before, the Yaris is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine, with the inline-four making 107 PS and 140 Nm, paired to a CVT-type automatic transmission. 16-inch wheels are standard, so are LED headlights and LED combination tail lamps.
On the safety front, the Toyota Yaris comes with pre-collision system (PCS), lane departure alert (LDA), blind spot monitor with rear-cross traffic alert (BSM, RCTA), and a 360-degree camera, to go with its 7 airbags.
UMWT backs the Yaris with a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty.
