Rendering wizard Theottle has given his interpretation of what the upcoming D92A 2022 Toyota Vios could look like, based on the recent spyshots in Thailand.

From the front, there appears to be styling cues taken from the Toyota Corolla Altis and Toyota Camry with the multiple horizontal slats on the front bumper. The vertical slits along the sides are also reminiscent of the Corolla Altis.

At the rear, Theo has given the 2022 Toyota Vios a full-width tail lamp treatment as deduced from the spyshots, with the Vios nameplate emblazoned in the middle. There’s also a C-pillar window that highlights its sleeker, more fastback-like silhouette.

The D92 2022 Toyota Vios is widely reported to be underpinned by the DNGA-B platform, which currently underpins the Toyota Avanza/Veloz and Daihatsu Xenia.

It is rumoured to feature the 1.5-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated 2-motor hybrid engine (M15A-FXE) from the Toyota Yaris Cross, essentially an eco-friendly version of the engine in the Toyota GR Yaris.

Other engine options expected include a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine, to comply with Thailand’s Eco Car regulations for lower excise tax, and a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre 4-cylinder for other markets.
