Mazda Biante
The Mazda Biante is a vastly underrated mid-sized MPV which offers a well-designed interior for 6 passengers whilst being easy to drive and park.
It offers powered sliding doors, 2nd-row seats that can slide transversely and horizontally for more practicality, plus trademark Mazda driving dynamics and comfort all at a price point starting around the RM 48k mark.
The Biante is powered by a refined SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre engine, producing 149 PS and 190 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Despite its short presence in the Malaysian market, there are quite many Biantes available on the used car market for buyers who want a capable MPV for not too much money.
Peugeot Traveller
Perhaps it's a lesser-known fact that the Peugeot Traveller was officially sold for a time in Malaysia. The 8-seater Traveller – though immensely popular in Europe – failed to make a splash here despite offering generous size and equipment for its RM 199k starting price.
Offering a leather interior, LED DRLs, auto headlamps and wipers, panoramic sunroof, 3-row AC vents and a reverse camera with a top view function, the Traveller gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Additionally, with a 150 PS/370 Nm 2.0-litre turbodiesel 4-cylinder, it also has enough grunt to haul the entire family. Prices now are a shade of what it cost new, at just over RM 60k.
Honda StepWgn
The Honda StepWgn is an MPV that competes with the likes of Toyota Voxy and Nissan Serena. Unlike its 7-seater counterparts, the StepWgn offers both 7- and 8-seater configurations. Notable for its unique "Wakuwaku Gate," or dual-opening tailgate on pre-2022 models, which maximizes convenience and practicality.
Honda StepWgns are only available as recon units, fully imported from Japan with prices hovering around approximately RM 150k currently. Prices can vary depending on the age and specification of the vehicle but it’s an interesting alternative to the likes of the Nissan Serena, featuring a punchy turbocharged 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine, making 150 PS and 203 Nm of torque.
Toyota Voxy
If you want a charming alternative to the Honda StepWgn, check out the Toyota Voxy specifically the 4th-generation models which started coming over in 2023. Featuring a sportier design compared to its twin, the Toyota Noah, the Voxy is powered 2.0-litre Dynamic Force 4-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 200 PS of power and 202 Nm of torque, mated to a Direct Shift CVT automatic transmission.
Inside, the Toyota Voxy offers flexible seating arrangements, available as either a 7- or 8-seater, with options for a bench seat or two captain seats in the second row. Additionally, newer models like the Voxy now allow owners to set the multi-info display (MID) which was a downside of 3rd-generation recon models.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class
Though available for a time, you cannot officially buy the (W447) Mercedes-Benz V-Class now. However, there are still many superb recon models up for grabs, if you have deep enough pockets for a luxurious MPV that isn’t the Alphard/Vellfire three of your neighbours already have.
The most common V-Class variant offered here is the V220, which features a 2.1-litre turbodiesel 4-cylinder that develops 163 PS and 380 Nm. Quite a few recon V-Class variants also feature custom coach-built interiors resembling a private jet more than an MPV. Prices can vary too, from basic models just above RM 220k to fully customised versions at approximately RM 600k.
Conclusion
So there you have it, five superb MPVs that stand out in a crowd, but still do a fine job of moving people in style and comfort – all available for sale currently on WapCar’s new Cars for Sale page. Browse these and other superb new, used and second deals on great models now.
