Spied! 2021 Nissan Magnite production car testing on road

The upcoming Nissan Magnite Concept was just unveiled last week, but the production car is already spotted testing on the roads of India. From the picture, it looks like the production 2021 Nissan Magnite is very close to the concept in looks.

Nissan’s smallest SUV will bear the most resemblance with the bigger 2020 Nissan Kicks. The Magnite shares the same sweptback headlamps and a large octagonal grille finished with chrome trim.

As seen on the concept, the production Magnite also features a sculpted bonnet, add the sculpted bonnet with the sweptback headlamps and you get a decidedly Samurai looking front-end.

The only difference between the production-spec Magnite and the concept photos is the front skid plate. The silver skid plate has four indents and looks more subtle on the production car compared to the concept’s body-coloured skid plate with only three indents.

If you noted that the Magnite in the spy shot is missing the L-shaped LED and LED headlamps on the concept, we suspect that the car in the picture is either the base-spec or mid-spec Magnite.

From the picture, the Nissan logo is also heavily covered in masking tape to hide the new logo on the Magnite.

Details of the new sub-4-metre SUV is still scarce, but we do know now that Nissan is aiming to start sales of the Magnite in January 2021.

Though we previously believed the Magnite is an India market-only product, Nissan has since debunked that belief at the official world premiere of the Magnite by announcing that they expect global sales to start shortly after India.
