Can you close an automatic trunk manually?

Arun PandyanNot only is it not an issue, but by manually closing the liftgate you turn the motor into a generator. So if you have dead battery you can just open and close the liftgate manually a few times and charge up the battery. Ok that's not really true, but it is true that you won't do any damage by manually closing it.Jul 9, 2010
