Powered tailgate option officially available in the 2020 Proton X50

During our first look at the 2020 Proton X50, Adrian noted that the manual tailgate is a little heavy to use, just like on the Geely Binyue donor car. The good news, however, is the Proton X50 can be specified with a powered tailgate.

The powered tailgate is available as part of two accessory packages – Urban and Utility. The Urban package bundles the powered tailgate, built-in toll reader, coil mats, and magnetic sunshades. All these for RM 3,500.
The Utility package on the other hand, includes the powered tailgate, PVC mats, a boot tray, and scuff plates on the door sills. This package is slightly more affordable at RM 3,300.
These accessories will be fitted by dealers and the packages are official items offered by Proton as an option, so the cost of fitment can be included in the loan amount.
