Several Kia dealers have begun posting photos and details of the upcoming Kia Seltos on their respective social media pages, hinting the new SUV’s imminent arrival in Malaysia.

For the Malaysian market, Naza Kia Malaysia (NKM) will be offering two variants of the Kia Seltos, namely the EX and GT-Line. Both variants are powered by a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that does 123 PS at 6,300 rpm and 151 Nm at 4,850 rpm. The engine is hooked up to a 6-speed automatic transmission that transfers drive to the front wheels.

Variants and equipment

Both variants of the Kia Seltos receive LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a 6-speaker audio system, 6 airbags, stability control, and cruise control.

The pricier GT-Line variant adds a 7.0-inch Supervision multi-info display (MID), replacing the EX variant’s 3.5-inch unit, 8-way power-adjustable driver with 2-way lumbar support, Qi wireless charging pad, heads-up display, and front parking sensors.

What are the alternatives?

When the Kia Seltos hits the market, it will enter a hotly-contested segment that’s populated with models such as the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Subaru XV, and Renault Captur.
