The (long) wait for the 2022 Toyota Veloz in Malaysia is nearly over as it's purpotedly launching here virtually on Tuesday, 18-October 2022, according to dealers nationwide.
We've been made privy to dealers communicating this to customers. What's more, said dealers also shared that the MPV will be ready for viewing at showrooms the very same weekend, beginning 21-October 2022.

Bookings have been opened since June 2022, and since then UMW Toyota Motor have collected over 5,200 orders for the model. It's been a long wait since then, and knowing the purported launch date is welcome news β but keep in mind changes can still happen should any situation that calls for that occur.
2022 Toyota Veloz specs in Malaysia
Sister car to the all-new 2022 Perodua Alza (D27A), the Veloz is same-same but different, offering certain features that are unavailable on the Perodua, such as:
- Revised front and rear bumpers
- LED daytime running lights (DRLs)
- 17-inch wheels
- Dual-tone paint job
- 30 mm taller ride height (190 mm)
- Roof rails
- Full-width LED tail lights
- 9-inch infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto
- Automatic air-condiotioning
- Blue ambient lighting
- Qi wireless charger
- Tilt and telescopic steering adjustment
What's same is that it rides on the Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA-B platform to be exact), and is built at Perodua Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (PMSB) in Rawang, the same plant that builds the Alza, Myvi, and Aruz.

As far as its been publicised, the Veloz will come with wireless Android Auto andApple CarPlay, LED ambient lighting, 17-inch wheels, dual-tone exterior paint, and a 30 mm higher ground clearance. Its interior slightly differs from the Alza's too, with a different colour scheme, and varied air-cond controls.
Prices are dissimilar too β the Alza is priced from RM 62,500 to RM 75,500, while the Veloz, is estimated to be priced at RM 95,000.
