toyota innova drive Q&A Review

What makes Toyota Innova the most trustworthy MPV?

I will tell you this incident which happened last month in 6th June 2019 while returning from Dehradun to Delhi. We were travelling in our Toyota Innova Touring Sports drove down the hilly roads of Dehradun at around 10 AM and after reaching the bottom of the mountain I requested my wife to drive as I was feeling sleepy. A total of 6 people were in the Innova including my in laws, and 9 year old son. With my wife in the drivers seat, I was on the front passenger seat. The new highway passing through Saharanpur is pretty good and has a speed limit of 100 Kmph. My wife who is the owner of the Innova and drives it daily and is pretty good at it. Now the highway is straight and boring and I was dozing on and off. This happened at this spot. 29°43'54.3"N 77°39'36.4"E Just after the Essar petrol pump there is an unmarked road that comes to the highway. The highway is 6 - 8 feet higher than the road and the bushes and trees cover its view from the highway. So the road was not visible from the highway and the bike coming from the road could not see the bright red Innova on the highway with a speed limit of 100 Kmph. The biker coming from the road somehow come on the highway’s right lane travelling not parallel but at a right angle to the Innova. It came on the road just a few feet ahead of us and right infront of the car without any warning and the inevitable happened. This is how it happened. The bike flew due to the impact and landed on the side of the road, the rider and the pillion’s head impacted on the windscreen. The rider was wearing a helmet and was saved from a head injury, the pillion was unfortunately not wearing a helmet and got a head injury. I somehow pushed the door open and saw the pillion rider bleeding, immediately asked my wife to call the police. Seeing the condition of the pillion I asked people to get the injured in the car so that we take him to hospital. but then an ambulance arrived, it was going somewhere else but the people get the injured in the ambulance and got the injured to a hospital. The police arrived as well and we accompanied the Police vehicle to the nearby police station. The Innova was impounded. This is how it looked after the accident: The Innova was parked for 12 days in the police station before we could get it released from Court. I requested the police to show me the bike which caused the accident which looked like this: To answer the original question: Is Innova Trustworthy? Absolutely. We were surrounded by a mob within 5 minutes of the accident, I was scared as my 9 year old son 70+ year old in laws were in the Innova. After the injured was taken to the hospital I asked my wife to drive and wait for the police a little further down the road away from the mob. Thankfully Innova was in riding condition. Had it been any other 7 seater car situation could have been unpleasant. Also, despite the accident happening at high speed (not sure about the exact speed but it was over 60 Kmph) there was no jerk felt in the cabin by any of the passenger, neither the air bags were deployed. Thankfully, the bikers were saved, and we were able to drive back the car from Deoband to Gurgaon. So if you love your family, this is the only vehicle you should travel for long distance road trips as this is the most reliable and safest vehicle you can buy in India.

Which is a better vehicle for self-driving and long-term use, Tata Hexa or Toyota Innova?

Well, as others have already mentioned a comparo between the Toyota Innova and the Tata Hexa specs wise, I am going straight to the question and its answer To be Honest, both these two cars are not a great choice for self driving btw. These two cars are premium people moving cars. There is a significant amount of price difference between the Toyota Innova and Tata Hexa. Yes, the Toyota Innova is the Undisputed king of the segment and aces others clearly when it comes down to reliability. But the Tata Hexa is no slouch either and don't forget, the Hexa has a 4x4 option which is still cheaper than the Innova Crysta. With 4x4, the Hexa will help you through the rough. Hexa is a XL sized crossover, whereas the Innova is a people mover. But for being self driven, the manual Tata Hexa with its long clutch travel, long throw gearbox, the huge turning radius and not to mention its huge size might be intimidating. Not that the Toyota Innova is a tiny car. The final choice comes down to the budget, 4x4 requirement or not, reliability and personal preferences like looks, size etc Here's a comparison between the two Compare Tata Hexa vs Toyota Innova Crysta Courtesy : ,New Cars, Used Cars, Car Prices, Reviews & Images in India

Is it true that the Innova engine lasts for 500,000 kilometres easily?

Any diesel engine can work absolutely fine for 2 lakh kilometers. The Japanese are known for designing and developing some of the best durable, reliable , efficient and low maintenance engines. The D4D engine which powers most of the Toyota vehicles like Tundra, Tacoma Innova, Innova Crysta, Hilux, Fortuner, Corolla, Camry etc can last almost 10 lakh+ kilometers without a major overhaul and not loosing it's earlier driving characteristics like smoothness, throttle response or reduction in fuel economy. Here are some examples Odometer readings of Toyota Hilux Odometer readings of Toyota Innova. 9 Lakh+ Kilometers. Why should one buy Tata harrier (five seater) over Toyota Innova (seven seater)?

Toyota Innova is still the best 7 seater MPV in the market. But it is not an SUV built for tackling off road conditions. Anyone who needs a 5 seater which can easily tackle very bad roads with utmost comfort must consider the Tata Harrier. The strong points are : Huge ground clearance and high profile tires just makes the car glide over potholes It is more spacious than even the higher priced Compass and Hyundai Tucson. The driving modes specially are very functional and actually bring a lot of difference in driving But if one wants a 7 seater SUV, Tata Hexa is better than the Innova.

Which one should I buy, a Tata Hexa, a Mahindra XUV 500 or a Toyota Innova?

I’ve recently bought a XUV 500 2019 W7 Automatic. I had obviously shortlisted Hexa and Innova as well. Following were the reasons to buy the XUV Did not consider Creta, Compass or any other similar so-called-SUVs - 7 Seater was the main requirement, hence the other options were ruled out Innova - My daily average driving is around 70 km (in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon). Hence an Automatic transmission was required. Innova Automatic was very pricey. Hence, ruled out. No doubt the passenger comfort in an Innova (specially the ones with the Captain Seats) is way better than the XUV, still Innova was way beyond my budget Hexa - Hexa was my first choice at a given point of time. Tata was worked a lot on their vehicles since they’ve acquired JLR. Still, the Hexa is just a 3 year old car as of now. I was (and still am) skeptical about the longevity of Tata cars. There were a couple of Tata Safaris in my family, and the owners were so pissed off with their breakdowns and unreliability. So I could not gather the courage to invest 18–19 lakhs and then deal with this risk. XUV - Left with no choice, I went ahead with XUV. But since the day I’ve bought it, it hasn’t let me down ever. It has covered Spiti Valley; there are frequent trips to Mussoorie, Jaipur with loads of passengers and luggage. But XUV performs like a champ. In my opinion, if your budget allows, go for Innova Crysta. But if not, then sure shot XUV is the best option !

How is Toyota's service quality for daily driving cars like Glanza, Innova, Fortuner, etc.?

Very good and fine quality. If you have not bought Toyota cars then go for Toyota Glanza and Yaris test drive then you will come to know about the build in quality.

What will be the mileage difference if a Toyota Innova is running with only a driver instead of full passenger capacity in the same conditions?

Innova Model: ,Toyota Innova, 2.5G 2011 Edition This image was taken last month! Scenario 1: Long drive with my friends (5 of us) from Mangalore to Mysore (via Madikeri) and back, in the same route. Total distance covered: 720 km Refueled at Mangalore Reliance Petrol Bunk: 51 liters (,had filled the tank fully here before the trip,) I got a mileage of ,14.11 kmpl. Scenario 2: I usually travel alone in Kasaragod (Kerala) - Mangalore route during my vacations, and return back home the same day. Total distance covered: 130 km I get a mileage of ,15.14 kmpl,. In both the cases, my average speed was around 70–80 kmph. Tyres were aligned properly, with proper threading intact. No over-speeding or no sudden braking most of the times. Tyre pressure was 33 psi. Thank You! Hope this answer helped you!
