What cars in India use rear wheel drive?

Here are some of cars with RWD Ambassador, Suzuki Grand vitara, Maruti Gypsi, Maruthi Omni, All Mahindra jeeps, Xylo, Scorpio, Endeavour Outlander, Tata Sumo, Safari , Toyota Innova . Talking about the best , according to me Toyota Innova is the best . INNOVA is Multi purpose utility vehicle which carries more weight than any other cars in that class. The Toyota Innova is a rear wheel drive UV with a longitudinally mounted engine. And its a luxury vehicle too , But only problem is at top gears in high rpm engine begs for more gears

Which car should I buy, Innova Crysta or Fortuner?

Well, this is quite good question generally comes to people’s mind. I’ll try to give the answer of this as par of my knowledge :) Innova Crysta, is more comes under category of MUV (Multi-Utility Vehicle), but some people say it as a SUV, which certainly it is not. However, the feel is same like an SUV car. Reasons what is extra in Fortuner, that’ll make u think to go with it, as follows: Bigger in dimensions than Crysta. drivetrain options are 4*4(4WD) & AWD . If you are serious SUV lover, then Fortuner will only meet ur needs better than Crysta. Produces Horsepower of near about 175BHp at 3,400 Rpm & Torque of about 450Nm at 1600 Rpm. You get More ground clearance, More fuel tank capacity. Bigger Tyre size - 18”, which makes all drive experience different and ultimate. And some extra convenience features than Crysta. Conclusion:- Both the cars are no less but, If you mostly drive your car in cities & highway- then INNOVA CRYSTA. If you car go frequent in some bad roads (potholes, small stony road) or you are off-roading enthusiast, or want to drive real SUV - then u can go happily with FORTUNER. P.S. Suggestions/comments are happily welcomed.

Mahindra Marazzo Toyota Innova Crysta let’s start with the starting prices of the car- Marazzo: Rs 14.59 Lakh ( Ex-showroom Price ) Innova Crysta: Rs 23.47 Lakh ( Ex-showroom Price ). On road prices of the Top Variants - Marazzo: ,Rs.17,39,723 Innova Crysta: ,Rs.28,00,803. Answer to your question is -, Innova Crysta is way better, ,than Marazzo, in every aspects except the pricing of car. Both are MUVs , but the looks, performance, features, safety & class you will get only in Crysta. Crysta Merits over Marazzo: Engine generates ,more power, of near about 171.5bhp at 3400 rpm, means more fun & punchy. Pickup is just much superb ,than Marazzo. Has a ,2800 cubic capacity, (cc) engine. Ultimate, seat comfortability & quality,. Bigger ,in dimensions than marrazo. Crysta is also offered with ,Automatic transmission,. (And believe me its Automatic transmission is superb, so well tuned & delivers the great efficiency). More fuel tank capacity than Marazzo. Offered with ,more comfort & convenience features ,which are very necessary in today’s life (makes car expensive than Marazzo). It has Safety features like ,Side Curtain, ,Airbag, Vehicle Stability Control System, Automatic Headlamps which are absent in Marazzo. Has a catchy & decorative instrument cluster and illumination mounted on the roof in both front & real as well which gives a premium pleasure. TFT MID with Drive Information (Fuel Consumption,Cruising Range,Average Speed,Elapsed Time,ECO Drive Indicator And ECO Score,ECO Wallet). Easy & cheaper maintenance cost than Marazzo. A Global Product of TOYOTA, - ,name says it all. Crsyta demerits over Marazzo: Marazzo is offered with Disc Brakes, on both front & rear tyres. Not good mileage, than Marazzo. Marazzo is offered with 17″ tyre size in top variant whereas maximum is 16″ in Crysta. Expensive ,than Marazzo. In My Opinion, I will advice you to purchase Innova Crysta (if you are not price concerned) I am saying this from my personal experience, Crysta is just mind blowing car, especially its Automatic variant. Its a full loaded package. Best wishes to you dear :)

How much horse power does a 2000 cc engine have?

My father’s old 1989 Honda Accord EX has a 2.000 cc engine that generates about 103 to 110 hp at 5.000 or more rpm. My high school friend used to drive an old 2002 Toyota Kijang Krista with 2.000 cc engine that generates no more than 90 hp at the end of 4.000 or bottom 5.000 rpm. My father’s current 2010 Toyota Innova has a 2.000 cc engine that generates about 137 hp at low 5.000 rpm-ish. My friend’s 2009 Honda CR-V and other friend’s 2012 Mazda CX-5, both have 2.000 cc engine that generate around 150 to 155 hp. My brother’s 2012 Hyundai ix35 / Tucson has a 2.000 cc engine that can fire up 166 hp somewhere at mid 6.000 rpm. My friend’s 2013 Ford Focus has a 2.000 cc engine that churns out 177 hp. A Ralliart-tuned Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X has a 2.000 cc turbocharged engine that can generate up to 400 hp. All of those cars have in-line 4 cylinder configuration. The latest Toyota 86 / Subaru BR-Z from 2013 has a boxer (horizontally opposing) flat 4 engine from Subaru, with 2.000 cc capacity that generates 197 hp. You see, it is rather difficult to answer this question.

Is there any theoretical method to find the time required by the engine to reach certain RPM?

There is no fixed formula as the time depends on a lot of factors such as engine size, fuel ratio, stroke length etc. This also depends upon the transmission system, gear ratio, load applied and drive system of the vehicle. A practical example is racing cars such as McLaren reach the maximum RPM in a fraction of a second while cars such as Toyota Innova take many seconds to reach the upper limit.

How convenient is Toyota Innova as a city car on Indian roads, if one can ignore the parking woes?

The old Toyota Innova, which I assume is what you're asking about - and not the new Innova Crysta - offers tremendous tractability in the city. On paper the old Innova only offers 200 NM of torque, which is surpassed by even compact SUVs these days. But there's zero turbo lag in the Innova and all the torque is available at even low RPMs. The Innova has a small, fixed geometry turbocharger with no turbo lag. This makes the Innova good for city (and hill) driving. If you're driving the 110 BHP Renault Duster in the city in contrast, for instance, it suffers from terrible turbo lag since it has a larger variable geometry turbocharger. It only begins spooling at a high RPM, so in city traffic you'd be emitting a lot of black smoke if you floor the accelerator, but still without being able to move fast at low RPMs.

Just how bad is a CVT transmission? Is it worse than a 4-speed automatic transmission?

My mom had a 2004 Honda jazz i-dsi with CVT. It is a very smooth accelerating city cruiser. With a small but efficient 1.5 litre Honda L15A2 engine, producing 86 hp at 4.500 rpm and 131 Nm torque output peak at 2.700 rpm, it is a perfect combination with CVT. From 0 to 40 kph at feather light touch to the gas pedal, the car will accelerate quickly. So it is a very fuel sipping setup from already fuel efficient car. The onpy drawback is that this car is quite polluting. My sister’s current 2014 Nissan Livina is equipped with Nissan’s notoriously troublesome Xtronic CVT. It is however, very smooth too. Combined with newer Nissan’s HR15DE engine, it sips fuel carefully. However, unlike Honda’s low torque setup, the Nissan’s needs a bit of push from the start, which the CVT will respond by holding them in high underdrive ratio until the car starts rolling and then slowly reducing the drive ratio. Meanwhile, my experience with a 4-speed automatic transmission mainly comes from my friend’s 2009 Toyota Avanza, my boss’ 2011 Toyota Innova diesel, and my father’s previous 1989 Honda Accord. To some extent, I also remembered my uncle’s Volvo 960GLE. Those cars are old fashioned and the transmission are jittery at best. Gear changes took about a second, so when your car is climbing on full load, you will feel the jerk. The Toyota Avanza and Innova is a bit newer, so it is much smoother. Yet, it still takes quite a long time for the transmission to adequately couple the power the wheels. Most of the time, I just press the pedal waiting for something to happen. Which usually occurs a few moments later. CVT is good, especially for small city cars, hybrid cars, or other cars with relatively small power and torque output, bigger engines will likely cause CVT some reliability problems. They are never designed with 0 to 100 kph record breaking to mind. It is just a smooth sailing from 0 to 50 kph. So on most red lights stop and go, you’ll launch relatively faster than those cars with 4-speed automatic slushboxes. But, when on highway speed, passing semi trailers, buses, or slower cars will be much easier with the 4-speed automatic, because the modern ones will usually be equipped with lock up clutch that mechanically connects the engine cranskhaft to the driveshaft that turns the wheels via differential. So, power transfer is much more direct. The CVTs will need more time to push the car from 100 kph to 120 kph. Modern automatic with more than 4 gears are usually much better than CVTs, especially at highway cruise. It will also beat CVT in acceleration terms if both cars are pushed to the limits. CVTs in my opinion, are better suited to city driving with frequent stop and go traffic. At high cruising speed, the automatic will more likely win in terms of efficiency too.
