Lexus Malaysia is offering the ES 250 in two different trims, Premium and Luxury. Being a Lexus, the ES 250 is naturally fully imported from Japan but interestingly the local distributor has managed to keep prices extremely competitively.

There’s only one engine option available, the 2.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine developing 204 PS and 247 Nm of torque. Drive is transferred to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

New Volvo XC40 T5 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid launched

Volvo says the XC40 T5 has a 0–62mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 127mph. WLTP-rated economy stands at 141.1mpg, and Volvo claims the XC40 T5 will emit 38g/km of CO2. The T5’s battery pack offers an all-electric range of 28.6 miles.

All XC40 T5s come with a 4.5-metre three-pin domestic charging cable, which Volvo says will provide a full charge in between three and a half and six hours. The Swedish brand also offers a Type 2 fast-charging cable (for an extra £50), for use with commercial fast-charging stations, which will provide a full charge in around 2.5 hours.

Specifications for the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis revealed

Ahead of the all-new Toyota Corolla’s debut, UMW Toyota Motor has released the preliminary specifications of units bound for Malaysia.

Unlike the predecessor model, the all-new Corolla will feature just one powertrain – a carried over 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE four-cylinder petrol engine with Dual VVT-i, paired to a CVT-type automatic that sends power to the front wheels. The engine is good for 139 PS at 6,400 rpm and 172 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
