The facelifted 2024 Mazda CX-5 is set to make its debut in Malaysia as it arrives at local dealerships. Details regarding prices and specifications are pending until the official launch.
Powertrain options are expected to be carried over from the outgoing model. Mazda offers a rather extensive list of engines with the CX-5, including two naturally-aspirated petrol engines, a turbocharged petrol engine, and a turbodiesel unit.
Sitting at the top of the CX-5 lineup is the turbocharged 2.5-litre petrol engine, boasting 228 PS and 420 Nm of torque. Naturally aspirated variants are expected to be available in 2.0- or 2.5-litre capacities. The 2.0-litre engine delivers 162 PS and 213 Nm, while the 2.5-litre variant produces 192 PS and 258 Nm.
The 2.2-litre turbodiesel, generating 188 PS and 450 Nm, is also expected to continue, given its availability in the larger CX-8 model. All engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Standard equipment is likely to be bumped up (along with prices), with goodies like wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless charger, and driver aids like adaptive cruise control.
To recap, these are the current prices (with metallic paint) and variants for the Mazda CX-5 in Malaysia:
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
