I bet to the outside world, us car people look like a bunch of loons. We ogle over what people think are just tools to go places, and sometimes, those tools look like normal Honda Civics but cost a lot. Almost RM 400,000 a lot.

Make no mistake, we love the Civic. We think the 8th-gen Civic FD is the best of the bunch. Perhaps someday that too will command RM 300,000 as this 25-year old EK9 did recently.
This time, the car in question is a little bit newer. You’re looking at the Honda Civic FN2 that went for HKD 688,000 (RM 377,535) recently. Phew.
What gives? Well for starters this isn’t your mom-and-pop Civic, it’s a Type R. And it’s no ordinary Type R either - Mugen sprinkled their fairy dust on it.
This Mugen R boasts upgraded camshafts, stainless steel exhaust, uprated intake and even a custom ECU map that matches the owner’s driving pattern. Good for 237 PS when all’s said and done.
Lightweight forged alloy wheels, four-piston monoblock calipers and ‘completely revised’ suspension are all there to make the car handle all its power.
On the outside, it gets a more aggressive body kit, a bigger-is-always-better spoiler and obligatory Mugen badges, capped off in Championship White paint.
Apart from all the goodies, what makes it uber pricy is its rarity - only 20 were produced, and this is #21 - the last one ever made.
I know, I know, I hear you. For some reason car #13 was never made, so here we are.
It was never driven much too, with only 17,769 km on the clock.
Too bad it's not available anymore, but the dealer (Hong Kong's Contempo Concepts) still has tons of sweet rides for sale still. Are you up for the challenge?
