Enjin 1.5 liter Perodua Myvi dan Toyota Yaris - adakah mereka sama?

Terdapat sedikit persamaan dan perbezaan antara enjin 1.5 liter dalam kedua-dua kereta ini. Perodua Myvi dan Toyota Yaris menggunakan enjin Dual VVT-i 1.5 liter dari keluarga enjin NR dan kedua-duanya dibuat di kilang yang sama iaitu Daihatsu Perodua Engine Manufacturing di Sendayan Techvalley, Negeri Sembilan.

Tapi, kod enjinnya berlainan sedikit - 2NR-FE untuk Toyota Yaris manakala 2NR-VE untuk Perodua Myvi. Walaubagaimanapun, ini hanyalah akhiran kod berbeza untuk Toyota dan Daihatsu.

Wikipedia akan beritahu anda cerita lain pula, dimana ia menyatakan yang enjin 2NR-VE Daihatsu adalah seketul blok besi manakala 2NR-FE Toyota pula ialah blok aluminium. Ini tidak tepat, ya. Walaubagaimanapun, kuasa kuda enjin ini berlainan sedikit. 2NR-FE menghasilkan 107 PS dan 140 Nm tork manakala 2NR-VE pula (bergantung pada model kereta), menjana 103 PS dan 136 Nm tork.

Tambahan pula, enjin 2NR-FE seringkali dipadankan dengan continuously variable transmission (CVT), manakala 2NR-VE digandingkan dengan transmisi automatik dengan 4 kelajuan konvensional.

Kereta-kereta yang dipadatkan dengan enjin 2NR-FE termasuklah Toyota Vios, Toyota Yaris dan Toyota Sienta. Manakala bagi enjin 2NR-VE pula, ia dipadatkan dalam Perodua Myvi, Perodua Aruz, Toyota Rush dan Toyota Avanza.
