Could this be the world's first look at the upcoming 2025 Toyota Camry? The signs certainly point towards that way...
This teaser was dropped late last night by Toyota USA, with the cryptic message: "Can you guess whatβs on the horizon?" Looking at the wide stance, four seats, and what seemingly looks like headlights extending all the way to sides, this is more than likely to be a sedan.
Note too that is the US-market Camry, which could mean things will be a little different for other markets.
A new Camry seems to be the most likely given that the current XV70 gen has been around since 2017. However, note that there's been reports out of Japan that say this could be a Major Minor Change (MMC, or an extensive update spanning aesthetics and performance) instead of an all-new generation, so that remains to be seen.
Some of you may point out that it could also be a new-gen Corolla, given that the current 12th-gen model has been around since 2018. But this is less likely as the model was facelifted in 2022 and 2023, depending on markets.
Naturally at this point there's very scant details of the new Camry. It reportedly rides on the TNGA-K platform, and while no powertrain specs are available, there were earlier rumours on it sharing a turbocharged 2.4-litre engine with the Lexus NX (279 PS/430 Nm).
Electrified powertrains are certainly not off the cards as well, along with updates to its entertainment and safety suite.
In Malaysia, the XV70 Camry retails for RM 219,800, for the sole naturally-aspirated 2.5 V model.
