The upcoming Kia Sonet has been spied testing in Indonesia ahead of its global launch.

The Sonet is the subcompact sister to the much-awaited Kia Seltos.

In these spyshots provided by autonetmagz.com, we could see that the Sonet’s overall proportions and camouflage is akin to this leak spotted by Cardekho in India recently.

The Sonet shares a platform with the Hyundai Venue and is expected to feature the same engine and gearbox choices:

• 1.0-litre turbocharged engine (83 PS / 114 Nm)
• 1.2-litre naturally aspirated mill (120 PS / 171 Nm) 
• 1.5-litre diesel (100 PS / 114 Nm)
• Choice of 6-speed manual, 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and Hyundai’s new clutchless manual 6-speed iMT

The Kia Sonet is expected to make its Indian debut on August 7.
