BMW announced last year they will be discontinuing their hybrid supercar, the BMW i8. To celebrate the occassion, 1 unit is to be painted in the exclusive Portimao Blue. 

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder that does 231 PS and 320 Nm, hooked up to an electric motor that does 131 PS and 250 Nm. Combined system output is 362 PS and 570 Nm.

BMW launched the i8 back in 2014. Since then, 20,500 units have been produced worldwide. 

The outgoing i8 coupe in Malaysia is priced from RM 1,408,800. With the model officially being discontinued, will this hybrid supercar live among enthusiasts as a modern classic?
