![Driver of the Kia Cerato speeding in the opposite direction on a Klang highway arrested! 01]()
Remember the viral Facebook video of a white Kia Cerato speeding in the wrong direction and narrowly avoiding other vehicles on a Klang highway? The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has finally tracked down and arrested the driver.
Northern Klang police chief, Assistant Commissioner Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh reported that PDRM arrested the 28-year-old driver at around 5.30 pm in Petaling Jaya yesterday.
According to the police, the driver was on his way back to Petaling Jaya after a meeting with friends at that time of the incident. He also claimed that he was using Waze as he was unfamiliar with the roads around Klang.

PDRM said that he panicked when he mistakenly entered the wrong lane causing him to start speeding in the wrong direction.
Initial drug tests on the driver came back negative. PDRM is unable to carry out an alcohol test as it has been 40 hours after the incident.
Police have since confiscated the Kia Cerato while the driver has been remanded for further investigate under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
