The Proton Saga FLX SE was launched on 30 November 2011. It is powered by a 108 hp CamPro IAFM+ 1.6 litre engine, paired to a CVT. Driver and passenger airbags as well as ABS with EBD come standard. A new body kit, smoked rear lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels give the FLX SE a sportier, more aggressive look.

Saga Prices range from RM 32,800 to RM 39,800, all powered by a 1.3-litre engine paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Its only rival is the Perodua Bezza which when equipped with a similar 1.3-litre engine, costs between RM 43,980 to RM 49,980 – not quite the people's car.

It is a well-built car. Saga's safety features are also good, which can be witnessed by its 3-star rating by ASEAN NCAP on its safety. The best part, in my opinion, is its engine, which delivers quite a powerful performance. Proton Saga is quite a big car if you compare it with the price it is charging.

On the FLX, the CVT features a six-speed artificial Stepped Auto mode called SAT, which is engaged by a push-button switch next to the gear shifter, as well as a L mode. ...
