On the surface, the camouflaged Corolla Cross looks pretty much like ours, even down to the wheels that are available on our forthcoming 1.8V variant. However, it might also have certain market-specific visual differences too.

Powertrains are still up in the air in the meantime: Japanese media speculates that it's the hybrid being tested, but they mention the model could get a market-specific Dynamic Force mill too.
Meanwhile, there's been rumours that the Corolla Cross begins production in September 2021 at the carmaker's Alabama factory.
Rear seats have up to a 6-degree recline
Besides the North American market, Toyota is planning to introduce the model in Japan by Q3 2021. In order for it to do well there, a hybrid powertrain is a must.

The Corolla Cross made its world debut last year in Thailand, whereby it became a runaway hit. Up till now, it's the best-selling SUV in its segment there. After that, it was exported to neighbouring countries like Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

In Malaysia, the Corolla Cross is priced from RM 128,000 (1.8G), and RM 134,000 (1.8V). The initial allocation of 750 imported 1.8G units were sold out in less than a week, and locally-assembled (CKD) cars will be introduced in the later half of this year.
