Volkswagen Passenger cars Malaysia (VPCM) have confirmed that the forthcoming Volkswagen Arteon, the successor to the Volkswagen CC, will come with a 190 PS engine 2.0 TSI engine.
This is different from the preview unit, which was put on display at the 2019 VolksFest event and the 2018 Premium Auto Car Expo. That particular display model was a top of the range 280 PS/350 Nm 2.0 TSI 4Motion R-Line all-wheel drive model.
The latest revelation by VPCM also means that the Arteon will share the same front-wheel drive powertrain as the latest Volkswagen Passat Elegance, in an identical 190 PS/320 Nm tune.
Like the Passat Elegance, it will also use a 7-speed wet-type dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Prices and launch timing have yet to be confirmed, but VPCM is looking to launch the model in the near-term, pending some final hurdles in price approvals but the MCO/CMCO situation is not helping.
