As the next-generation Toyota Avanza moves on from a rear-wheel drive (RWD) set-up to a front-wheel drive (FWD) set-up, this could spell the end for the Toyota Rush.
According to a report by OtoDriver, the Rush could be killed off once the FWD Avanza debuts around the end of 2021.
The Rush currently shares the same platform as the Avanza. With the Avanza being replaced, that could spell the end of the Rush as its donor platform ceases production.
According to sources close to the Indonesian media, there is a possibility that the Rush could be replaced by another B-segment SUV in 2022 which could be the Yaris Cross.
As we have reported before, the next-gen Avanza will also likely be badged as a Perodua, replacing the ageing but still popular Alza.
Speaking of Perodua, the Rush’s twin, the Aruz has quite a few surprises that we like which you can read in our pros and cons. With the Rush speculated to be killed off in 2 years, will the Aruz continue on for a few more years like the Alza?
