Even as it’s a public holiday, that doesn’t seem to stop Toyota Malaysia as they put out an enticing teaser that confirms the imminent arrival of the 2020 Toyota Hilux facelift.
The short 10-second clip shows the Hilux hiding away in the shadows as it’s H insignia shows different views. But you don’t have to wait in mystery...
We know it's the facelifted model. Upon closer inspection though, it's interesting to note that this tease features the top-spec Revo Rocco Edition (it could be either the L or Black Edition for us), judging by the alloy wheel design and two-piece grille.
Looks aside, the juicier bit about the new Hilux is its revised 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine with 204 PS and 500 Nm - up 27 PS (previously 177 PS) and 50 Nm (previously 450 Nm) from the current mill.
Other than a Toyota Tacoma-esque design, all variants of the new Hilux in Thailand gain an 8.0-inch touchscreen head unit with Apple CarPlay support. The Thai-market Hilux now features Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite, a welcome addition when the new Hilux make their imminent debut here.
