Geely has just revealed the pricing of its latest SUV, the Geely Haoyue. The Haoyue is priced between CNY 108k to 148k (RM 65k to 89k).

The Haoyue is available in either a 5 or 7-seater configuration and interestingly the range-topping model is a 5-seater.

As you can see from the table above, the Binyue, Boyue, and Haoyue prices overlap with each other – a pricing strategy that is not used in Malaysia.

In China, buyers have the option of a smaller car with a high specification or a larger car with lower equipment levels.

There is only 1 engine option available for the Haoyue which is the 1.8-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder paired to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission – the same combo seen in the Proton X70 CKD.

The 1.8-litre turbo mill makes 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Drive is being sent to the front wheels. Geely claims that the Haoyue is able to return 7.8L/100 km.

Key features available in the Haoyue includes 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, floating touchscreen GKUI19 infotainment system, PM2.5 cabin air filtration system, 42 cabin storage spaces, and a massive 60-inch panoramic glass roof.

While many Malaysians may be attracted to the idea of a Proton 7-seater SUV based on the Geely Haoyue, sources from the company have highlighted that there are no immediate plans for a model like this.

The next Geely-Proton model will be the Proton X50 SUV as well as the next-generation Proton MPV based on the Geely Jiaji.
