Images purporting to be a right-hand drive unit of the upcoming Proton X50 have surfaced on social media sites, but are they real?
Well, a closer look reveals that these images are actually flipped, as not only are the buttons positioned wrongly, some of the text are also unreadable. Just see the Trip button.
If that does not convince you, take a look at the gear lever – the P, R, N, D are all inverted. Heck, the Parking button became a q.
A more comical flipped image depicts a manual version of the Binyue. Never mind the flipped Chinese text, the pedal placement is completely wrong – the clutch and foot rest are on the right side of the footwell.
Granted, right-hand drive units of the upcoming Proton X50 do exist, but these units are closely guarded by Proton’s engineering team. The engineers will usually cover the car in a black cloth to shut out prying eyes.
While we’re at it, we would like to remind you guys not to put a deposit for the Proton X50, as the company has yet to open bookings for the model.
